Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:13-18
Today's Focus Verse: "It is written: 'I believed; therefore I have spoken.' Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak." - 2 Corinthians 4:13
Devotional:
A young entrepreneur named Sarah faced bankruptcy after her startup failed. Friends advised her to "be realistic" about her future, but Sarah remembered her grandmother's words: "Faith isn't just what you feel in your heart—it's what you're willing to say out loud, even when everything looks impossible."
Despite the circumstances, Sarah began each day declaring God's promises over her situation. She spoke words of provision, restoration, and new opportunities. Her friends thought she was in denial, but Sarah understood something powerful: biblical faith requires both believing in the heart and confessing with the mouth.
Six months later, an unexpected partnership opportunity arose that not only restored her finances but launched her into greater success than before. Sarah's spoken faith had aligned her heart and mind with God's promises, positioning her to recognize and receive His provision.
Paul reminds us that true faith cannot remain silent. Like the psalmist who declared "I believed; therefore I have spoken," our faith must find expression through our words. When we speak God's promises over our circumstances—not as denial of reality, but as declaration of a greater reality—we activate the same spirit of faith that sustained the apostles through impossible situations.
This Wednesday consider what God is calling you to believe and speak. Your words of faith today may be the bridge between God's promises and their manifestation in your life.
